The Great American Beer Festival happens every fall. While I myself am not a fan of the frothy beverage, Michael and many of our friends are. So, for the past few years we have made the pilgrimage to the mecca of beer Denver, Colorado. Beer Fest is the main event for many that travel with us, but Mike and I always spend a few days seeing the sights in and around Denver.
All of the following destinations are within a few (driving) hours of downtown Denver. Each is incredible and had us returning, year after year!! (And therefore pictures are from multiple trips to the same destination.)
Rocky Mountain State Park
Red Rocks Amphitheater
Mount Evans Road (The Highest Paved Road in North America)
The United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs
Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs
Pike Forest and Pike’s Peak (We’ve tried to drive to the peak two times, but weather and a helicopter crash has stopped us from doing so … third time should be a charm!!)
And last but not least, Denver and the GABF!!
We’re already anticipating our next trip our to Denver. We’re hoping to make it back to Breckenridge, explore Boulder and try (again) to drive to the peak of Pike’s Peak once again!
DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR TRIP, OR CREATING YOUR OWN ADVENTURES IN DENVER AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS? Leave a comment or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, I’d love to help!
